There is nothing like waking up from a restful sleep to the sounds of the Serengeti. Once you have enjoyed your breakfast, the acacia-covered savannah of the park welcomes you to explore the wildlife. You will drive towards the central Serengeti and Seronera area. The Seronera Valley with the Seronera River supports a far greater diversity of resident wildlife than anywhere else in the park, including elephants, buffalo, hippos, impala, reedbuck, waterbuck, and topi.
This is also the site of the Seronera airport, the visitor information center, a small museum, coffee shop, picnic area, and staff village. En route, you will encounter rock outcrops, also known as 'Kopjes', which are characteristic of the Serengeti landscape and popular with predators as vantage points. By the end of this day, you will probably understand where the Serengeti’s name (endless plains) comes from. In the late afternoon, you will return to Africa Safari South Serengeti camp.
